I am Diana Hansen, the owner and creator of Red Thread Creations. I am a mom of three, including a daughter that we adopted from China in 2006. I have been sewing and making crafts for over 30 years and doing graphic design for 3 years. I love to create! While Red Thread Creations may be new, I've been creating and selling online and at my local farmer's market under the name of FreeStyleMama Creations for several years.

Red Thread Creations offers handcrafted gifts with adoption in mind. Goods include custom jean purses and crafts like frames, albums, and decorative letters. I take the time to pick out the right fabric, papers, embellishments, or other materials needed for each item. Then I make quality products that are exceptional and attractive. Items are sold one at a time. If you request a duplicate of an item that has already been purchased, it's likely that your item will turn out slightly different. I don't want to mass produce identical items.

My graphic design services include blog makeovers, headers, and blinkies, and digital scrapbooking. My web services range from the very basic to extensive. Click here for more details. Custom Digital Scrapbooking

I am now offering my digital scrapbooking services. My plan is to create brag book albums for a variety of occasions. Brag book sized scrap pages are 4"x6" which is your standard photo print size. These pages are the perfect size to stick into a quick album and show off to family and friends.

You provide the photos and let me know what you want the page to say (title & any text/journaling) and I create it. For the best quality print you should provide me with a high resolution jpeg. Thumbnail or small size jpegs will have to be stretched to fit on the scrapbook page and will appear pixelated or blurry when printed. I will return scrapped jpegs to you. You can print these at home or have them printed professionally (Snapfish, Walgreens, Target, Walmart, wherever!) I might also offer to print and mail them for a higher price. I do recommend that you back up the scrapped pages to a CD or external hard drive for future reference/printing.

Custom Jean Purses

I am very excited to offer custom jeans purses. These purses are make out of denim jeans and include a lining, beaded handles, a ribbon belt, and other possible embellishments. While the jeans are used, they are in good shape. Obviously jeans come in many different shapes and sizes, likewise each purse will be different. Due to the cut of jeans, these purses tend to be a little taller in the back than front or might not be symmetric. These differences are not obvious. Your family and friends will be so taken by the look of the purse that they won't notice any slight asymmetries.

The base price for a small-medium sized jean purse is $50. That will include a liner, handle with plastic pony beads, and ribbon or similar belt. Options for purses include glass and/or other decorative beads, appliqués, embellishments hanging from a handle or belt loop, a snap closure, and a larger size. While I do have a small stash of jeans, fabrics, beads, and embellishments on hand, I want your purse to be unique for you, so I'll need to go to the store to get all needed supplies. If you are ordering a custom purse, please contact me so that we can discuss what you want. I'll let you know if I am able to get the supplies necessary for your purse and the time frame that it will take. Scroll down to the bottom to see some jean and fabric options that I do have on hand. I can also make your daughter's jeans into a purse.

There are 2 options for purchasing items from Red Thread Creations.

Option 1: You pick something that is shown as available and you click the Buy Now button. That will direct you to the PayPal purchase page. You will enter your zip code to determine the shipping amount and make your purchase. Please contact me if you want to purchase more than one item and I can generate an invoice so that you can make one payment.

Option 2: You may place a custom order. You will need to contact me with your request. That request can be something similar to a product you already see at the site or something you'd like me to create just for you. I will email you back and let you know the availability of materials for your custom product, the cost, and time frame that it will take to create. When we agree on what the order will be, I will generate an invoice for you to pay via PayPal.

I accept payments via PayPal. PayPal is quick, easy, and secure. They do not share any account numbers information with me. PayPal accepts Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and eCheck from your bank account. You may also pay from your PayPal balance if you have an account. If you do not have a PayPal account, there is instructions for paying on the lower left side of the PayPal page. If you pay via eCheck, I will ship your purchase after the eCheck has cleared.

ABC China Trip Lifebook

My first offering is a customized ABC China Trip Lifebook. This Lifebook album is brag book/standard photo size. The album will be like the one pictured in the slideshow below, but will contain your information. It will have 28 pages, which include a front cover, A-Z pages, and a back cover. You will provide your photos and pick what each letter A-Z represents. I do have a list to choose from and can help with any tough letters. While my example focuses on the actual adoption trip, yours does not have to.

This ABC book is perfect for little ones and will help introduce them to adoption and their story. I put our pages into a simple plastic album and our daughter loves to look through it. And the nice thing about digital pages is you can easily reprint if any get torn or folded. Order info is below the slideshow. Contact me for a price quote.

There are two options with this ABC Lifebook. Both include using your photos to create 28 brag sized (4"x6") digital scrapbook pages. You will be provided a proof that you will approve before the book is finalized. Feel free to email me with any questions before you order and to get a price quote.

Option A: When your brag pages (jpeg) are complete you will receive them via zip file(s) that you will retrieve from a secure download. You can then print them at home or professionally. I encourage you to burn them to a CD or store on an external hard drive for retrieval and reprint.

Option B: I will print your pages, put them into a simple plastic album, burn the files to a CD, and ship the album & CD to you.

Starfish Foster Home ~ 1st Donation Sent

I did a few blog makeovers in March, so on April 1 I sent my first donation to Starfish Foster Home in China. Timing was perfect because I got a news update from them saying they have have requests from a few orphanages for medical care for several special needs orphans, but they need to raise some funds so that they can support these children. I was excited to be able to click the donate now button and send in a donation. I hope to send in even more on May 1! The Kat Purse ~ Custom Order

This purse was a custom order put in by Katrina. She wanted a funky extra-large purse. She gave me an idea of what she liked, but asked for me to make the purse and send it without showing her a pic. She wants to be surprised by how it turns out. ~~At time of publish I haven't sent her package yet, so I hope she doesn't peak here! LOL!~~ I know she is going to love the varied beads, the fun ribbon (which is lined in silver), and the great skeleton fabric. She got the purse and made a digital layout with it with is posted below! Due to the size, fabric & ribbon, hanging key, and the beads used, this purse is valued at $85.
